Koh Som

Koh Som or orange island is the locals’ collective name for the two, tiny, uninhabitated islets just 1.5 km offshore, around 5 minutes boat ride from Koh Samui’s Sunset Pier at Bangrak.  Familiar to passengers of the Had Rin ferry which passes close by, Koh Lum Mu Noi and Koh Som are connected by a sand bar. With no roads and no electricity Koh Som remaines a nature-sanctuary despite the idea to develop the islands for tourism. Day trips to the deserted beach are easily arranged.
