Village restaurants

DRAFT

The Billabong Aussie Surf Bar is the the last kitchen in the Fisherman’s Village to close, at midnight. But nocturnal munchies can still be satisfied without leaving the Village until 02h00 or thereabouts (for 30 bath), unless they run-out first, by a high-solids pork noodle broth from the yellow-signed noodle stall, just up from 7/11 on the left of the street.

Of particular note are the Thai restaurants that materialise, seemingly from nowhere when the sunsets, on the right of the street heading out of the village, opposite the pier. Malee Restaurant, across the road from the 7/11 supermarket is recommended, but 200m further on, at a direction 2 o’clock from the traffic lights on the ring road, Pee Chet is a fantastic, barn-sized oasis of ultra-low-cost Thai cuisine, that should not be missed. Pee Chet offers an authentic Thai food experience covering a spectrum of regional cuisine, with seafood choices predominating. Lucy or any Baan Bophut staff member can provide guests with more detailed directions and enthusiastic menu guidance, based, it has to be said, on their own preferences.
